CYCLE HIRE – STAGE 1 CYCLES in Hawes

WILD SWIMMING – Semer Water (About 15 minutes by car – Turn left at the bottom of Sedbusk Hill towards Askigg but turn off right to Bainbridge, through Bainbridge and turn off right to Countersett. At Countersett drive down to the lake and park on the “beach” and pay the farmer.

WILD SWIMMING – Wain Wath Force (About 20 minutes by car – Turn right at the bottom of Sedbusk Hill and then turn right to Swaledale. After a few miles, turn left at the T-junction towards Thwaite. Wain Wath Force is just less than a mile north of the village of Keld on the B6270 that heads on to Kirkby Stephen.

Windermere in The Lake District – only 35 miles and less than an hour away

Forbidden Corner – Good for Children – 20 miles or 40 minutes away

Dent & Dentdale – 15 miles / 35 Mins. Character village & beautiful dale. Possibly visit Garsdale Station and Dent station (highest in England) on the way ……. but a long walk from Dent !!!!

Tan Hill Inn – 13 miles, 35 minutes. Highest pub in the UK. Regular Winter lock-ins!

Aysgarth Falls – 9 miles, 20 minutes. Upper, middle & lower falls

Malham Cove in Wharfedale – 30 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes, A beautiful drive if you go via Hawes, Gayle, Kettlewell. You can then even visit the village of Airton (but maybe not a lot happening since my ancestors left!!)
